Keep an eye on our blog to follow the progress of this Killearn family house build being built to Scottish Government Gold Standards for Sustainability and also to the Passivhaus standards – one of the first in Scotland. This means that the house will be very well insulated, triple glazed, and air tight – heating bills will be significantly reduced as will carbon footprint. The house will have a MVHR system to circulate the internal/external air, keeping it fresh all year round.
The site is an old quarry which means that is an interesting build, over two levels, giving views of the Trossachs from a panoramic large kitchen/living space window. Great attention to detail has been given to the development of this house – to keep to it’s high sustainable requirements. Sustainable Self Build is project managing between architects, builders and trades, to ensure that it meets the Passivhaus standard, whilst keeping a close eye on the budget. The architects are the award winning Paper Igloo.
A large self build family home in the countryside of Fintry, Stirlingshire.
Sustainable Self Build introduced our client to the architects and will help appoint builders, trades and manage the entire build.

We’ll be saving the client money for this house build and ensuring everything goes smoothly, from planning process through to site works.
The client will have a beautiful bespoke home, tailored to his taste and need, in a beautiful location, for a price less than or similar to an off the shelf developer home.
